Results of activity of the Cultural and Educational Centre “Master Klass” in 2009
The Cultural and Educational Centre “Master Klass” expanded and promoted its activities in 2009. The quantity of programmes and pupils increased in such traditional trends as learning foreign languages (at the language schools “Oxford Klass” and “Lingua Klass”) and preschool education. In 2009 our Centre also opened new educational trends. Particularly, a study centre of computer technologies (i-klass) that gathered together the most experienced specialists who had been working in the field of IT education for many years. Their activity programme contains almost all topics of specialized computer education, ranging from child programmes (child club “ITdo”) to upgrading IT specialists in the most complicated and highest technological spheres.
Art Workshops also changed and expanded their activities: nearly ten separate workshops were formed, including amongst others a Music Workshop, Choreography Workshop, Theatre Workshop, Photo Workshop and an Art Workshop. Classes at these workshops are held by experienced experts and the study programmes are intended for various different audiences. Family participation is a distinguishing element of the programme.
The creation of cultural and informative projects took a completely new direction in the activities of “Master Klass”. In 4 months, starting with the autumn-winter 2009 education season, more than twenty different events were held - concerts, exhibitions, master classes, meetings, film shows, etc. Some were held by “Master Klass” independently, others in co-operation with the partners and organizers of such significant events as the International Art Festival GOGOLFEST, the International Jazz Festival Jazz in Kiev and the International Film Festival “Molodist”.
Many projects carried out last year were pilot projects i.e. done for the first time. And with regard to the joint partner projects, “Master Klass” supported the most important events for their originality and significance on the culture processes in the country.
The events and actions, which were held under the aegis of or supported by “Master Klass”, can be divided into several main trends (which can also interconnect topically):
- Musical events (concerts, musical festivals, master classes of musicians),
- Cinematographic events (the English Cinema Club, IFF “Molodist”, special film shows),
- Art events (creation of an art gallery and a series of exhibitions),
- Informative events (meetings with interesting people, master classes, book shop),
- Child and family events (child programme within the framework of GOGOLFEST, child camps at holidays, morning matinees, child ballet, etc.),
- All-humanitarian events (projects that combine several trends and are of social importance).
